Two Tone Effects

Natural cherry possesses the unique characteristic of developing a deep, rich, reddish brown patina with the most dramatic change taking place in the first year. The ash or maple of these pieces remains lighter in color giving a warm two-tone effect. Watching the coloration process taking place can be an enjoyable experience.

The ash and maple is used for leg and back spindles, while the cherry wood is used for seats, crests and arms.

Our light cherry stain on cherry/maple chairs gives the chairs an all cherry wood look. Over time the cherry wood will darken and the two tone effect will appear.

Our black or green lacquer is applied to the spindles, legs and crests. Arms, seats, and crests will be stained with a light cherry stain when black or green lacquer is applied to the legs, arms, and crest. A natural cherry crest can be obtained at no additional charge if requested.

To accomodate the purist, 100% Maple, Oak, or Cherry is available on most models.
